EA Sports FC marks a huge change for the world of football gaming, as EA moves away from the FIFA branding for its flagship game series, after a 30-year partnership. The game features groundbreaking HyperMotion V technology, immersive women's football experience, and a host of other innovative features, delivering the most realistic and inclusive football game ever made. Øyedrops was tasked with developing an all new look for the in-game matchgraphics, in close collaboration with the inhouse team at EA Sports.

The process of developing the new system, included an initial period of general exploration to find the overall look and feel, before three different directions was designed. Direction one, the modular direction, later became the actual in-game graphics. The second direction explored the triangle shape as the foundation of the design, while the third direction explored a broader use of line art and gradients. The different directions was explored for key elements, including motion explorations for each path.
